About Ron & John Taylor Decoration
We are specialist painters and decorators based in Kenilworth, Warwickshire and have been in the trade for 40 years. My son John also works with me in the business and between us we have over 50 years of experience in applying flawless paint finishes. We like to think that we are a good old fashioned father and son team that provide a 1st class service.
Our main area of expertise is hand painting kitchens with modern acrylic, low and zero VOC paints. I think it is also fair to say we have moved with the times and over the last 10 years or so, I have developed extensive knowledge of spray painting kitchens and furniture.
Back to the beginning, I am an old school decorator and my family-owned business, RJ Taylor Decoration Ltd, has been established over 30 years. I have been in the Dulux Select Decorator Scheme since 1997. I have 93 reviews and 100% of reviewers would (and indeed many have) used my services again.
In 2004 I went out on a limb, and started to focus on modern water-based paints. It wasn’t easy, because at that time, the UK trade mainly used oil-based paint on woodwork, and the choice of reliable water-based gloss and eggshell was limited. The trade was also intransigent to change. However it was the best investment I ever made in my trade!
I am equally at home with a brush or spray equipment, and use the best combination to suit each job. After 7 or 8 years’ study, I have since become a recognised authority in the UK on how to achieve the highest standards of finish on woodwork, using acrylic and water-borne paints.
Working throughout the West & East Midlands Covering Warwichshire, Worcestershire & Birmingham Ron & John have carried out the refurbishment and hand painting to 100s of kitchens over the years. This kitchen refurbishment was carried out in Southam, Warwickshire, Finished in Benjamin Moore Scuff-x satin finish. One of the finest paints available for kitchen painting. A very durable low sheen water based paint. It is very tough, ideally suited for kitchens and furniture.
