Martin Guest Traditional Painter Q&A
I asked Martin Guest Traditional Painter, a few questions in order to provide some background to how he arrived at this point in his career.
What part of the UK do you cover for Traditional Painter?
Birmingham, Worcestershire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire & Shropshire
What is the best part about being a kitchen painter?
Meeting with some fascinating people and getting the opportunity to enhance what is probably the most important room in their home!
What’s the best location you ever worked?
I’ve been extremely fortunate during my career – I’ve worked throughout the Far East, Middle East and Europe. But, I don’t think that you can beat the rolling landscape of Herefordshire… luckily it’s within my Traditional Painter working area.
– Going forward, what would you like to see happen in the trade?
I have always been passionate about education (never stop learning!)… There are many innovative products that are available and in development that help us do what we do more effectively and efficiently – I would like to see more painters embracing new technologies and techniques – realising that they are there to assist and improve, and not take a blinkered “Old School is the only way” approach.
When working, do you listen to radio, your own music or audiobooks? Any favourites / recommendations?
I love music, I attend many gigs… having said this, I prefer to work in silence.
This is the standard of work that Martin carries out for Traditional Painter. If you have a project in mind, contact here, he will be happy to help. More Team TP members are featured here
