Hand painted kitchen in Surrey
Mark Nash had a challenge when called into do this hand painted kitchen in Surrey. He leaves a good tip on how to avoid adhesion issues with water borne paint over a factory primer.
This week I have had the pleasure of playing my part in the transformation of a kitchen in the Surrey hills.
It was a quality new installation, prepared with a two-pack catalyst primer and ready for me to treat with Krudkutter’s Gloss-Off surface preparation product – an unglamorous title for an elegant solution to the decorator’s potential adhesion problem! (This product has been discontinued, Fluxaf Pro Clean applied neat has same properties.)
Two Tikurilla topcoats in Pavilion Grey went on like a dream for a slightly silky, smooth but resilient finish.
The paint quality and colour selection set off the chrome handles and Serizzo Antigorio granite to a tee. One might even say ‘squisito’…
I was very satisfied with the result and, most importantly, with the customer’s delighted feedback (which included a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates: particularly welcome as I was overlooked by St Valentine this year…)
The pictures speak for themselves
