About Cabinet Painter
I have been over 10 years in the trade and at Cabinet Painter, I specialise in hand painted kitchens as well as free standing and fitted furniture. I am equally at home refurbishing older cabinets, restoring well worn and sometimes re-purposed cabinetry, as well as painting new bespoke pieces.
I was brought up on old trade values, particularly with a focus on thorough preparation, which is the key to a long lasting finish.
Kitchen painting relies on sticking to systems and I am always on the look out for improved ways of working. One example is my investment in dust free sanding, which has taken preparation to a new level. The cleaner working conditions are obviously a huge bonus for my clients too. No dust or bitty paintwork here!
There is far more to my business than impeccable paint finishes, I am in the service industry and I believe it is imperative to offer the best customer service possible.
All my work is insured and guaranteed, I provide detailed quotations. If I think there are more practical or cost effective alternatives, I will let you know.
The painting industry as a whole has a fairly poor reputation, but rather than looking for short term gain, I build relationships with my clients and have much repeat work to show for it.
If you are in Exeter, Plymouth, Taunton or surrounding areas and have a project for a hand-painted kitchen or some painted furniture, please contact me and I will be happy to give you the benefit of my experience, and advise you on what is involved to achieve the end result you have in mind.Read articles by James

Lead times / start dates
Please plan your kitchen painting project on the basis of approximately 12 weeks' lead time. We pride ourselves on our customer service and we will not over promise. Obviously if there is a cancellation or gap in the schedule, you may be offered an earlier start date, but ordinarily, we are booking about 12 weeks in advance.
When upgrading your kitchen, this is actually a good period of time for you to complete any other works, upgrade appliances, choose colours etc in readiness for your kitchen painter... Thanks for your understanding.
About Traditional Painter specialists
In the unlikely event of a complaint about our workmanship, clients will be referred to our 2-step complaints procedure.
If we are unable to provide a satisfactory resolution in-house, consumers will be referred (at no cost) to the Ombudsman Services which is independent and impartial.
Property owners, designers and kitchen companies looking for a reliable craftsman should be aware that all of the kitchen painters and fitters associated with Traditional Painter are independent specialists and are listed on Traditional Painter by invitation only, having demonstrated to myself and their peers that they are highly skilled and experienced craftsmen who know what they are doing. They are also one or two-man teams and share the values and drive for excellence promoted on the site. None have paid a fee to list their services.
As you will see on each profile page, the specialists have also provided additional information to demonstrate to potential clients that they are bona fide businesses. Plus, in addition to their own Terms and Conditions, each member has agreed to follow a general Code of Practice. Ordinary tradesmen they are not.
You are welcome to contact Andy at any time, for general information or for an answer to specific questions you might have about your kitchen or furniture painting project: the order of any renovation works, the options for paint finishes, spray v hand-painted etc.
I can also give you guideline prices for any kitchen painting work, for budgeting purposes, however the best person to talk to about a fixed price quote, specifications and arrangements is the traditional painting specialist nearest you, via that unmissable contact button above!
