Over mantels are not seen that often in modern kitchens, but they are a very interesting and practical feature.
Over mantels can also be one of the trickiest aspects of a kitchen to paint, as a raking light can reveal every blemish. But any kitchen painter worth their salt knows that and will spend that extra time with preparation and making sure the brush work is just right.
Painted sink units This is where most of the work is done in the life of a kitchen – the sink area. It gets the most wear and tear, at least that seems to be the case when cleaning down an existing kitchen for painting! Mark has taken great care to make sure the lines painted into the underside of the worktop are nice and straight and there is no paint on any hinges, which would be a cardinal sin.
Painted pine dresser
Mark is also a skilled furniture painter. As he says, there is something special about a painted old pine dresser, especially once it has been dressed. It was colour-matched to the rest of the kitchen cupboards.
