Hand painted kitchen Haughton Staffordshire
Martin Dunn, Traditional Painter in Staffordshire, tells us about a recent hand painted kitchen in Haughton.
This was a well made wooden kitchen, and the owner was looking for a transformation from a specialist who knows what they are doing.
We protected the kitchen floor, worktops and appliances. As per our standard work routine, we would thoroughly degrease and sand all surfaces ready for an oil based Coverstain primer.
This project was slightly different, in that normally we paint the kitchen in situ. On balance, it is the most practical way. But the wall units had already been taken down for the new granite worksurface to be fitted, which gave us the chance to dismantle the units, remove the twisted columns and take apart the plate rack – and retreat to an outbuilding.
We used an HVLP spray gun to reach the more ornate twists and difficult-to-reach plate rack.
And this is a finished view of the kitchen, all painted beautifully with Little Greene oil based eggshell.
Following my hot tips on Pot Noodle in Lichfield, I think it is only fair to share with you that the sandwiches of the week were Cheese and Onion!
