Furniture painter Mac Devereux
With over 40 years in the trade, furniture painter Mac Devereux has an extensive portfolio of painted furniture and kitchens and heritage projects. As Traditional Painter member for Leicester, Nottingham and Derby, Mac has seen it all.
In this day and age, when you think “garden furniture”, it doesn’t usually conjure up these sorts of images. But everything is possible.

I applied an extra couple of coats of the finish paint to give more depth to the colour.
Pine furniture painting
We are often asked to quote to paint furniture, but the truth is, we only tend to win the quote if the client values their furniture. By that I mean, in this throwaway society, there is much “good cheap furniture” on the market. The cost of painting say, a bedside cabinet by a professional, can be hard to justify.
In this case, though, the client’s pine kitchen table and chairs were good quality and they wanted a facelift. Painting worked out more cost effective than buying new blue furniture. (Although I do wonder where you could buy this blue dining room suite off the shelf!)

More than just painting
My client was very good and understanding. I delayed the return of the table and chairs by about 10 days. Firstly, I applied an extra couple of coats of finish to give more depth to the colour,. Also I wanted the paint to completely cure before it was returned. She was over the moon with the result and still is a happy customer.
