Listed under Blog, hand-painted kitchen, Mark Nash, tikkurila Posted Jul 20 2012

This a hand-painted kitchen in the Cotswolds, completed recently by Mark Nash, master kitchen painter. He used Tikkurila Ultra Classic on general woodwork and the Tikkurila Feelings furniture paint on the cabinet doors.

The Finnish company supply paints for the UK’s most prestigious kitchen and furniture makers. Tikkurila Ultra Classic is a polyacrylic water-borne paint that Mark uses on previously painted or bare woodwork – trim, windows… Same colour, similar properties to Feelings Furniture paint, but Mark does not use it on cabinet doors.

Have you seen his video explaining how he uses an atomiser to achieve a perfect finish with water-borne paint? (It is an atomiser, not a garden sprayer!)

If you have any questions on Tikkurila paints, which Mark uses on most of his hand-painted kitchens, there is a thread on the Traditional Painter forum for water-borne paints
