Binzys Furniture painting Emporium Marlborough
Mark “Binzy” Nash was the first specialist kitchen and furniture painter to join the Traditional Painter team in 2011, and the new Binzy’s Furniture Painting Emporium Marlborough promises to bring the general public in touch with the very best aspects of our craft.
When Mark mentioned last year about plans to open a furniture painting store in Marlborough, the first thing that sprang to my mind was “that’s a great idea, especially in a town like Marlborough”. The second flash was a couple of photos that 3rd generation master painter, Mark, had sent me on day one of TP.
This is the photo of Mark’s grandfather, Frank Nash…
He was the proud owner of a decorating shop in nearby Swindon, and is now the patriarch of 4 generations of Wiltshire Nash decorators.
Mark’s son Sam, has joined him, bringing some exceptional qualities to the kitchen painting business. (As a former Porsche technician, notwithstanding an extremely good eye for detail, he knows all about the dedication and application required to reach the highest levels.) Now the 3rd and 4th generations of Nash painters look set to carry on the good work launched nearly 100 years ago.
What to expect in the Emporium?
The name “emporium” conjures up tradition and shopkeepers of yore, when everything was made properly and owners really knew their stuff. Nothing has changed in Binzy’s 2015 emporium.
– Mark is an experienced kitchen painter who specialises in producing flawless and durable paint finishes. Customers at the Emporium can expect the same attention to detail and thorough workmanship on their pieces of furniture.
– Mark is in that traditional mould of being very knowledgeable and passionate about their craft. He has enough paint and technical manuals of his own to fill a small bookstore and is willing to share ideas and tips with DIY enthusiasts who want to have a go themselves.
– Mark’s father was renowned for his graining work, (the art of replicating wood using tinted glazes) and at some point in the future, Mark plans to continue the tradition of specialist decorative finishes, running in-store demonstrations for members of the public.
If you are in the Marlborough area, there will be no need to head up to London for specialist treatment like this.
In business!
Mark has finished converting the old Military bookshop in Marlborough, revealing some classic architectural features and bringing the traditional feel back into the building.
When Mark’s furniture painting clients want ideas, there is no shortage of opportunity to see a range of projects and gain an insight into the full preparation and painting process. He also welcomes prospective clients looking for his high class hand painted kitchen services.
When the tour of the Emporium gets all too exhausting, there will be an opportunity for light refreshment at the pub next door, to talk colour.
We wish Mark and Sam every success. Mark can be contacted on 0771 900 5852, alternatively you can leave a message on the contact form
