Emma Brown our Traditional Painter based in Kent brings back the grandeur to this beautiful bespoke Clive Christian kitchen
Modernising a dated oak kitchen
This was a huge undertaking, a Clive Christian kitchen that had a lot of strong features such as wall panelling, barley twist pillars, window blind covers, a large mantle and the natural oak colour had badly aged over the years. My client wanted a more clean line look and so as well as painting in a timeless shade we also replaced the clear glass doors for an opaque glass with the glazing bars removed, lightened the walls, and added brass highlights in the handles, plinth vents and the wine rack. I advise on every aspect to make sure everything is included and improved upon.
Completed in a satin furniture paint finish bringing back the grandeur.
Our team of independent kitchen painters can prepare and paint any type, size and style of kitchen. We have painted every conceivable type of lacquered oak, waxed pine and laminate kitchen. We also repaint luxury wooden kitchens, as well as newly fitted hardwood, pine and MDF installations. Where necessary we can help with refurbishments too, from fitting new handles to organising new worktops. Our services are based on meticulous, high standards of preparation, dust extraction sanding and proven paint specifications.
Hand-painting wooden furniture adds years to its useful life. It also provides an opportunity for you to add your personal mark to a room without breaking the bank. From an an environmental point of view, upcycling keeps precious resources out of landfill too. In other words, there is a lot of value to be had if you can revive well made suites of dining room and bedroom furniture. We have many examples of custom painted oak cabinets, pine dressers, laminate wardrobes, pianos, antique stools and more.
Our furniture painters specify durable satin or eggshell furniture enamels. We can match the best paint for the job accurately to any colour you like. However there are also options for Annie Sloan chalk paint, faux effects and sprayed finishes.
For keen DIY, there are many original tips here on how to paint pine furniture.
