About HK Art

Nicky trained as a Fine Art painter and has gone on to specialize in decorative painting and gilding in high end residential properties over the last 15 years. Her practise has been informed by her love of painting and colour and she has always looked closely at decorative schemes employed in historic interiors for inspiration.

She offers an informed and intelligent response as to the style and aesthetic of the decoration that she carries out and enjoys the stimulation of working alongside both designers and clients alike. Her colour matching and mixing are excellent, with a keen eye for details, finishing touches and taste. You will find in Nicky an enthusiastic and responsive practitioner with plenty of ideas and inspiration.

HK Art have repainted furniture old and new such as kitchen units, wardrobes, bathroom units, free-standing bath tubs, tables, chairs and beds. All our furniture painting is done to the highest standards from prep right through to the finishing, with carefully considered paint systems for decorative effect and durability. We can give you assistance in choosing the right finish for you from gilded details, antique glazes, aged patinas, peeled and rubbed back rustic country furniture and hand painted decorative motifs.

We also enjoy working on smaller items and interior accessories such as gilded picture and mirror frames, curtain poles and finials, fireplace surrounds, shelving, blanket chests etc.

HK Art reviews

I have had the great pleasure of working with Nicky on the decoration of my home in Central London. Nicky's eye for design and decor, sympathetic to the property and period detail, makes her a very special decorator (a term which understates her skill and talent).

She also has a network of wonderful specialists who can address the challenges always encountered in period properties. Above all she is great to work with, her ideas are always creative, sympathetic, well thought through and practical, and she delivers on time and budget.”
